How do I put a satin oil finish on my drums?
I have a pdp z5 set. It is silver. But I wanna make it with a black background with blue fading upwards. I have been playing drums for 15 years and I only painted one of my sets( my first one) and lets just say that it was not too pretty but it was a fun project for a kid trying to learn about his insturment. Anyways I want to do this color with satin( like some dw drums). I dont want a shine to it. Then I will put black hardware on it! I know it will look amazing. but I dont know how to start. I have never used satin oil before and honestly i dont even know what it is. I already know how to strip everything off off the drum( it is wrapped) and sand it down a bit. but thats all i know. Do i primer it, one or two coats? idk. so if u can help let me know. thanks
oh it is a wrap on my drums. so i have it kinda easy already.
Prime it once, and paint it one coat. Apply as little paint as possible so the drum’s natural resonance doesnt get affected.. and by the way how’d u remove the finish of the drum? ive tried it before but i messed up
